Speed & Agility Clinic (offered March & April)

Starts March 1, 2017
Wednesdays at Arbolitos
2006 and younger 4:00-5:00 PM
2005 and older 5:00-6:00 PM

This clinic is designed and run by Accelerated Performance, who is committed to improving the athleticism and overall sports performance of Poway’s youth. Their training techniques are designed to improve an athlete’s speed, quickness, agility and balance. Speed and Agility are crucial to the success of an athlete at any level. Their training program focuses on the development of the correct mechanics and muscle memory required to increase speed and reduce injury for all sports.

Athletes will be provided with training in the following areas:
-Proper running form and technique
-First step explosion
-Power and Plyometrics
-Core training
-Acceleration and Deceleration
-Quick directional changes
-Stride length
-Balance and control

Skills Clinic  –  (offered May – October)

This clinic is designed to help players improve their skills and shooting. Clinic is designed with various stations to have a good instructor to player ratio. Skills clinic has a fun culture where players can develop their skills and improve their shooting. This clinic is run by our Directors of Coaching, Vaqueros coaches, and older Vaqueros players. Each player should wear soccer attire and bring appropriate equipment. This includes wearing shin guards, bringing water and a ball.

Goalie Clinic –  (offered May – October)

This clinic is designed to help the goalkeeper develop position-specific skills.  This clinic has a very low coach to player ratio with the purpose of helping each goalie improve. Each player attending should wear soccer attire and bring appropriate equipment. This includes wearing shin guards, bringing goalie gloves, water, and a ball.
